Stellar Feedback in Dwarf Galaxies

I show that bursty supernova-driven feedback in dwarf galaxies simultaneously transforms dark-matter cusps into cores and heats old stellar populations, producing the tight observed scaling relations between dispersion and luminosity without fine-tuning.

The use of hydrodynamic simulations to understand dwarf galaxy formation has accelerated dramatically with improved subgrid physics models and increased resolution.
